Louisiana Colonial Trails

Louisiana Colonial Trails refers to a network of scenic byways, routes, and trails threaded throughtout ten Central Louisiana parishes.  These "trails" were orginally used by pioneers to settle the west after the Louisiana Purchase of 1803.  Pioneers traversed woods, rivers, streams and hills to settle the west, while others traveled from Mexico, across the trails, and into the states to the east.
